Sami Komsan, the team's assistant coach, spoke on Thursday about the team’s preparations for Saturday’s game against ES Setif of Algeria.

Al Ahly will face ES Setif of Algeria on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals after defeating the Algerian side 4-0 in Cairo.

Here is what Komsan had to say about the game:

“The players are concentrated on the game. They know that they have one goal that needs to be achieved.

Pitso Mosimane, the team’s head coach, made sure to tell the players that we still didn’t qualify yet. Also, he stressed the importance of showing great character in Saturday’s game, which will be key in our qualification to the final.

Football is a game full of different scenarios. It is important to remain focused in spite of the team’s huge victory in the first leg.

We came early to Algeria in order to get into the atmosphere of the game. We still didn’t qualify yet, especially since ES Setif is a tough team. They were able to defeat Esperance in Tunisia and qualify for the semi-finals and that shows how strong they are.

As for playing away from home in the second leg, I believe that our players are experienced enough to play in such conditions. We all saw how good they were when they played against Raja CA in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

My final message to the fans is that we will do our best to win the CAF Champions League title for the third consecutive season and make history. Hopefully, we will make them proud.”
